All you have to do is sit at the door checking that each person entering a function room of the convention has a membership badge. Almost all ScienceFiction conventions are thought to do this, but in fact many do not, and PenguiCon does not. Sometimes we may do so for ConSuite, but not DealersRoom. Our policy is to definitely not turn away any paying customer from the DealersRoom just because they aren't with our convention.

Each year, a contract must be negotiated with a facility at which the con will take place. This has been, historically, at a hotel as so much of the event happens late and so many of our attendees reserve hotel rooms. The Hotel liaison's responsibility is to take care of said contract and ensure that both parties are satisfied; but that both parties honor their end of the agreement. It is a thankless job, but it has benefits. There is a lot of yelling involved.

This person's name is on the checking account along with the Producer and the Conchair/Chief of Staff. Receives all incoming funds, makes deposits and withdrawals at the bank, writes the checks to pay the debts of the convention, and makes an accurate accounting of this activity when required.
